iPhone 5 with a Power Grab?
iPhone 5 or the new iPhone release date not confirmed but Dock Connector Confirmation Hints surfing on the web this week. Most have their calendars pinned for September and October iPhone 5 release although there has been no official date yet from Apple.
Many rumors regarding the device’s various specs have been and will continue to circulate the internet up until it is released. Until then, expect the anticipation and the hype only to escalate. The world is waiting for the new iPhone with no patience.
One of those confirmed rumors comes from TechCrunch who recently stated via blog post that Apple would be introducing a smaller dock connector port on the iPhone 5.
A video surfaced early this month from eTrade Supply which showed a supposed iPhone 5 case with a hole for a new, smaller 19-pin port which is said to be a Micro USB connector to replace the familiar 30-pin.
This could all be speculation, despite what Scoble’s unnamed “phone world” engineer might aver.
Still, TechCrunch states that the dock connector modification “will surely send shocks through the iPhone accessory ecosystem” and reasons it implies that “Apple is more concerned with space savings inside each device”.
Let us wait and see. The only source that will confirm everything will be Apple itself.
