Apple’s forums have again been flooded with complaints about rapidly draining battery life on the iPhone, despite the firm releasing an update that was meant to fix the problems.

Available to download from Apple’s iTunes, the iOS 5.0.1 update was claimed to fix the battery problems that have dogged the new iPhone 4S since its launch last month, including some owners complaining of the handset draining its battery life by up to 15% in an hour.

After the update rolled out last night, some iPhone owners used the Apple forums to report that the update had not fixed the problems, and in some cases had actually made the battery drain worse.
