Two years go we were hearing about the 98-foot-long solar-powered boat, which at the time was preparing itself for a big journey around the world. The  MS Turanor PlanetSolar set sail from Monaco and now after 19 months and 37,286 miles, it has made it back home. The PlanetSolar broke several Guinness world records along the way, including everything related to the first circumnavigation by solar-powered boat. PlanetSolar also made stops on six continents along its way to promote solar energy around the world.

For the time being the PlanetSolar team is taking some rest and planning the next step regarding the future of the boat. There are several options for the MS Turanor ranging from being the world’s largest solar battery to being used as a  ”green luxury yacht.”
